Perfect Deery Series attendance earns
drivers 'Iron Man' award from J&J Steel
WEST BURLINGTON, Iowa  (Feb. 11) - Perfection may not result in a championship, but all  drivers who compete at each of the 14 Deery Brothers Summer Series events this season will be rewarded nonetheless.
The J&J Steel Race Shop in West Burlington will again award $300 product certificates to all I.M.C.A. Sunoco Late Model drivers who race at every event in the series for I.M.C.A. Sunoco Late Models.
Ten drivers cashed in on the contingency offer last season, including the top six in points: Champion Terry Schlipman, Tom Darbyshire, Brenton Slocum, Gary Russell, Jeremiah Hurst and rookie of the year Mike Karhoff.
Other "Iron Man" recipients were Darrel DeFrance, Ryan Griffith, Kelly Tapper and Jeff Maher. The ultimate ironman, DeFrance has yet to miss a Deery race and now has a streak of 238 consecutive events attended.
J&J will also give a $100 product certificate to drivers advancing the most posi-tions from start to finish of each feature race.
Drivers must display two J&J Steel decals to be eligible for either award. Those decals can be obtained during the pre-race tech inspection at all series events.

"We had more drivers with perfect attendance last season at Deery races than we have had in many years," I.M.C.A. Marketing Director Kevin Yoder said. "With the help of J&J Steel, we will continue to reward drivers that support the promoters who run those races, making the Deery Brothers Summer Series the best showcase of Late Model talent in the Midwest."

Mars Wins One, Leaves East Bay 2nd in Xtreme Points
February 10, 2003

(Elk Mound, WI)  Jimmy Mars Racing headed south to Gibsonton, FL this past
week to compete in the 2003 Winternationals at East Bay Raceway Park.  Jimmy
and his team had several strong runs featuring a victory in the Thursday
night Xtreme DirtCar Series feature event that paid $7,000 to win and was
taped by the SPEED channel for airing later this month.  He started 17th in
the feature event and led the final nine laps to pick up his sixth career
Xtreme victory.  Jimmy ended the week with three Top 5 finishes and five Top
10 finishes in six nights of racing at the 1/3-mile semi-banked oval outside
of Tampa, FL

Jimmy's week began with solid third and fourth place finishes on Monday and
Tuesday nights $5,000 to win feature events.  During Wednesday night's
preliminary action, Jimmy looped his #28 MasterSbilt chassis and failed to
make the $7,000 to win Renegade DirtCar feature that night.  The team
rebounded with Thursday's Xtreme win and backed it up with an eighth and a
sixth place finish in the final two events held during the 2003
Winternationals.  Jimmy left Florida second in the Xtreme DirtCar Series
points standings and first in the Advance Auto Parts Hard Charger Award
standings.  He also had two strong runs in the two televised events with
that victory on Thursday night and a strong sixth place finish in the
$15,000 finale on Saturday night.  To read more about the Xtreme races in
Florida, visit the official Xtreme DirtCar Series website at
www.xtremedirtcars.com.

"We are very happy to get out of Florida with the car in one piece and
second in the point standings," said Jimmy after his week in Florida.  "Our
goal is to win the Xtreme title and we needed to get off to a good start in
order to accomplish our main goal.  It is a long season, but we have put
ourselves in the position to make a strong run for the championship like we
did last year."

Jimmy Mars Racing will compete next in the Xtreme DirtCar Series event at
Thunder Valley Speedway in Glenmora, LA on March 15.  In his previous two
appearances at the Bayou speedplant, Jimmy finished 10th in 2000 and 11th in
last year's event.  Jimmy will be looking for another strong finish and
points night in the $15,000 Xtreme race.  Log onto www.jimmymarsracing.com

Conley Motorsports, Inc. Press Release - February 10, 2003

February 10, 2003

(Wheelersburg, OH)  The Conley's kicked off the 2003 racing season this past
week at East Bay Raceway Park, which is located just south of Tampa, FL.
All three were competitive all week long amidst some bad luck here and
there.  Along with some good finishes, the Conley's were also happy about
surviving East Bay with little damage.  This means more time to prepare
their equipment for upcoming races instead of catching up from the damage
that can often occur at East Bay.

Delmas competed in the last five events and made the feature in four of
them.  However, he could finish no better than 22nd in any of the four races
that he made.  Tires, mechanical difficulty, and a little bad luck were the
main culprits for Delmas this past week at East Bay.  R.J. had several top
runs including an 11th place finish in the Renegade show on Monday night and
a solid 6th place run in the Xtreme feature on Tuesday.  He made three of
the six races this past week and was hampered on Wednesday and Thursday with
an ailing powerplant under the hood.  "Hot Rod" was able to make two of the
six feature races throughout the week with his best finish a 10th place
showing during Wednesday night's $7,000 to win Renegade feature.

Plans are still uncertain where 2003 will take all three Conley Motorsports,
Inc. drivers.  Rod is tentatively planning on remaining with the Renegade
DirtCar Series on a full-time basis, whereas Delmas and R.J. will probably
hit most of the bigger shows on the east coast and in the midwest.  Keep up
with the Conley's schedule and results all year long at their official
website, www.conleymotorsportsinc.com.

Consistency Pays Off for Birky at East Bay

February 10, 2003

(Muscatine, IA)  Brian Birkhofer, fresh of a blistering 2002 racing season,
continued his hot streak into 2003 as he had several top finishes at East
Bay Raceway Park this past week.  Birky finished the week with four Top 10
finishes out of the six races held at the 1/3-mile clay oval located outside
of Tampa, FL.   He was only one of a handful of drivers to make each event
held this past week, as the competition at the 2003 Winternationals was
ultra-competitive.

The week started out with a fourth place finish on Monday night in the
Renegade DirtCar Series $5,000 to win feature event.  Brian kept the
momentum going the next night at the Xtreme DirtCar Series event where he
set fast time and finished fifth in the final feature rundown.  He almost
broke into victory lane on Wednesday night in the Renegade $7,000 race, but
was passed with two laps to go and had to settle for a strong second place
finish.  His two non-Top 10 runs came the following two days as he finished
twelfth on Thursday night and a disappointing nineteenth on Friday night.
However, Brian and his crew battled back on Saturday night to register a
solid fourth place run in the 2003 Winternationals finale, which was an
Xtreme event that paid $15,000 to the winner.

Brian was very happy with the week at East Bay because he has not had much
luck there in the past and he kept the car in one piece all week.  He is
also happy about being sixth in the Xtreme DirtCar Series points standings
and fourth in the Renegade DirtCar Series standings coming out of Florida.
Brian Birkhofer Racing will travel northeast to Daytona today to kick off
this week's UMP dirt late model action at Volusia County Speedway.  Monday
thru Friday's feature events will pay $5,000 to the winner and Saturday's
event will pay $10,000 and was taped by the SPEED channel to be aired later
in the spring.

Keep up with Brian Birkhofer Racing this week at Volusia County Speedway and
all year long at their official website, www.brianbirkhoferracing.com.
